Timing relay
DIL ET timing relays have been matched to the construction design of the contactors DIL E. The ETR 4 variant has been optimised for the measurement and monitoring relay as well as the safety relay. The ETR 2 timing relays are optimised for use in service distribution boards (space unit 17.5 mm), saving space in the control panel and ensuring the system is provided with a common design appearance.
ETR and DIL ET timing relays
Whether your application involves conveyor belts, fan controllers, or escalator controllers – ETR4 timing relays offer maximum reliability in a broad range of applications. In fact, Eaton ETR4 timing relays are the ideal choice anywhere where reliable switching operations with extremely precise time delays are required. And on top of this, their slim design and large voltage range make them perfect for use by control panel, switchgear system, and controller manufacturers. Moreover, their range of functions, which can extend up to 10 functions in multi-function models, ensures that the most important timing flows can be covered with a single device, minimizing inventories even when applications vary.
Large time range

Response delay is one of the most important time-dependant functions. Eaton´s timing relays fulfill this demand with a wide time range. Whether you are dealing with short signal extensions or extremely long processes: multi-range timing relays of type ETR 2, ETR 4 and DIL ET make it possible to set exact times within a range of 0.05 s to 100 h.
When using ETR 4 relays, for example, the first step is to select a time range using the "Range" indicator. The specific time is then set using the "Time" indicator. This way, the time is set directly so that the "actual" time can be read on the device's scale. In addition to this, the timing relay's operating mode, such as on-delayed or off-delayed, can be quickly and easily set using the "Function" indicator.
Signaling made easy
The B1 opto-isolated input actuation of the ETR 4 timing relay from any point in the circuit. This saves one actuating contact and the additional signal wiring.
It is possible to actuate the signal input even via voltages other than the control voltage. For example, the ETR4 may be supplied at 230 V 50 Hz, while signal input actuation is via 24 V DC.
The red LEDs indicate the timing relays' switching states. Meanwhile, the green Power LED lights up when there is voltage present and flashes when the time is running. Moreover, a remote potentiometer can be connected to ETR4-70/DILET70 units using terminal Z1/Z2 in order to adjust the time externally. If the timing relays are installed in enclosures or control panels, the time setting can be adjusted with the door closed.
All devices are for world markets to IEC/EN 60947 with UL/CSA approval. Many relays feature multi-voltage coils. This simplifies stock keeping and enhances the flexibility when reacting to customer requirements. Depending on the application, it is possible to choose between single-function and multi-function relays.
