One way to reduce energy costs for medium and low voltage distribution is by using the Eaton M2L substation. The power losses in the longer medium voltage cables are only a fraction of the losses in low voltage cables or busbar systems. Use of the M2L substation considerably lowers the operating losses of the electrical installation since the transport of large quantities of power at low voltage level is associated with significant losses. These losses are limited at medium voltage levels. This results in energy cost savings.

Eaton UPSs are also very efficient even at sub-optimal loading levels. Their energy-efficient technologies, such as Energy Saver System technology (ESS) and Variable Module Management Solutions (VMMS), dramatically increase UPS efficiency up to 99 per cent without sacrificing reliability of the system, all the while reducing energy costs. The technologies help customers get the best possible performance from their UPSs and reduce the whole organisation´s carbon footprint.
